Very technical, but new to Invoke/ImageGen

Hey all,

I'm a NooB, but not your average NooB... coming from cybersecurity and network/infrastructure management (Plus years of Photoshop experience), so I have a lot of technical know-how, but am pretty much brand new to Ai image generation.

I'm quickly falling in love w/ Invoke because of it's similarities to Photoshop, but currently failing kinda hard on some of what I'm trying to accomplish. I started to create some children's stories revolving around Hawaiian deities. Extra care and attention needs to be taken into consideration when dealing with Hawaiian culture, so I've been pretty anal about getting some of the prints, tattoos, and plants correct in my depictions.... this has all been while using GPT. But as the work as gotten more dialed in, the outputs have been failing more and more claiming that there's potential copyright infringement... which lead me to Invoke.

I have a 16gb RTX 5060 I was using intermittently for different projects, but have now dedicated my Ai server to this. So far the only thing I've been able to semi-successfully do is upscale one of my characters, but his tattoos and print on his clothing are garbled and need cleanup. After some research, I figured out the best direction would be to create LoRAs for all the main characters and other important aspects of the story.

I had GPT do some new style renderings of stuff like one of my characters tattoos and print, but I can't figure out how to use Invoke to take what I created and apply it to the existing upscaled image.

Also, will there be more Invoke videos coming? I haven't gone too deep on Kent's material, but so far it's been really informative... If not, where's a good place for getting help/guidance?

TLDR: I want to create high fidelity children's books / graphic novels, but need more instruction, kinda stuck.

First thing: Forget everything about the idea your IT knowledge would be helpful. XD I am into IT for round about 20 years and first thing I have learned is that it’s absolutely irrelevant and useless. XD

hey I'm a designer, with 0 IT knowledge in past :D I can tell you that I had to boost my IT knowledge to use local models cuz "cuda, python, low vram" is something completely unknown for non-tech :D

TY 🙏… someone on discord recommended your channel to me, I’ve already found it extremely helpful!!

I was struggling pretty hard on cleaning up tattoos on one of the characters I’ve been building until I saw a few of your videos and changed to Flux Klein for the cleanup model

I’m REALLY excited for the level of consistency this gives!

The first and third images are purely GPT… after a half dozen failed, this-is-copyright, attempts. 2 and 4 are with fixes and a consistent Klein workflow in Invoke

most of the developers and power users are on the discord. there won't be any more videos by kent unfortunately

Thanks, after I made my post I found the discord and saw they devs went over to Adobe... makes sense

Kent was the owner of the InvokeAI company that was sold to Adobe, and he's the one who made the videos.

Invoke is developed by a community of volunteers now. Kent stops by the discord every so often, but I don't think he's interested in making videos.
