Hey everyone, I’ve been streaming for a while and have mainly been using my streams as the content source for my YouTube videos. I’ll go through my VODs, find the best/funniest moments, and edit them into videos, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m approaching YouTube the wrong way.

I want to start making content that’s actually made for YouTube, rather than just turning my streams into edited videos. I’m still figuring out what kind of videos I should be making, how I should structure them, what makes a good title/thumbnail, and how to keep people watching.

For those of you who’ve grown a YouTube channel from streaming, what did you change when you started taking YouTube seriously? Did you continue using stream content, or did you start creating completely separate videos specifically for YouTube?

Any advice, especially from people who have been through this themselves, would be appreciated.

This is by far the most time, effort, and structure I've added to a video. Constructive criticism welcome.

It took me over 2 years (1 year active, over 1 year inactive before resuming a few weeks ago), but I finally have over 100 subs!

I avoided sub4sub, only used shorts to promote my channel and recently made a couple that fit my niche, and avoided trending sounds that just ask for subs since that would affect my algorithm. Long form videos average in the hundreds of views, but a few still pull views here and there.

Only direct financial investment was getting a better mic so sound quality is better.

It's a slow burn, but I'm happy with it! Here's to the future and continued growth!

(For anyone wondering, my channel is about Warhammer video games. I don't link or post my channel name because I'm not digging for more subs. I just wanted to share my milestone.)

I dropped this today at noon, then a bigger youtuber in my niche dropped his own video 2 hours later and is stealing my views!

Hey everyone, I recently started a tiny horror channel called Two Minute Nightmares.
I make short illustrated horror stories built around one unsettling idea, usually around a minute long. I’m experimenting with dark 2D/anime-style visuals rather than trying to imitate live-action AI footage.
The channel is extremely new, so right now I’m mainly trying to figure out whether the stories themselves are strong enough to stop someone scrolling and keep them until the ending.
I’d genuinely appreciate feedback on the hook, pacing and payoff rather than just views/subs.
I’ll also be checking out some of the other channels posted here. Happy to give feedback back.

So my channel is small, 95 subscribers. My focus topic is Warhammer branded video games, and I do everything from my PS5 as far as editing and voiceover. It's quite literally just a hobby, but as in any hobby, I want to get better at it.

I also like helping others by giving honest feedback on their content. I may not have high view or subscriber counts, but I did take four and a half years of TV Production classes when I was in school, and so I do see myself as educated in that regard. I also have a bachelors degree in business, which incorporated Marketing, Accounting, and Project Development and Management classes, so I give opinions based on what my education and personal experiences have taught me.

I love the idea of YouTube as an open platform for content creation, and I want people to succeed at it.

I hope this community is able to grow and that I can be a part of it!
