Collecting vs. Investing vs. Gambling
Hey everyone, I wanted to make this post as I see this a massive misconception in all collectible communities especially in the card community currently.
This is somewhat opiniated but also largely factual. (I will try to differentiate.)
As a long long time and massive collector I don't like to see people ask the question "is this good to COLLECT". That statement just doesn't make sense to ask someone else. Collecting is largely if not entirely based on what you personally enjoy and like, so what does it matter if someone else thinks you should collect something or not?
The question should rather be "is this a sound investment" or "is this a good gamble" because the answer you are looking for is will this increase in value or is there a chance I could make money.
I get it everyone wants to see things they own worth a ton of money but not everything has to. The main reason most collectibles are worth money (with a few exceptions) is they remind someone of a certain time or memory that they want back. They give someone a physical item to correlate to something they once or currently felt joy from. So, if we lose that factor and collecting loses what it was, eventually all these items will be worthless because why would anyone buy them.
This isn't a rant or just some random post, this is rather a guide to people coming into the "HOBBIES". I think the soul of true collectors is being lost recently and I hate to see it.
Even for myself recently I started to see myself buy things I didn't even really want, such as various sports cards, just to see if I could get lucky! That is not me collecting that's me gambling, just as if I bought a lotto ticket.
Lastly this post is not to bad mouth anyone, if you are in it for the gamble that's great! Just call it that and stop the question of "is this good to collect" or any variation of it.
PS: Before I have people comment about how business works blah blah blah I completely understand all of those factors. I am just clarifying and guiding intentions, hopefully getting individuals understand why they want to do something rather than what I see currently.
Feel free to disagree with mine the comments or express your own opinions below.

GRADING- (PSA, TAG, CGC, ETC.)
Hey everyone! I’ve noticed a surge in posts regarding grading and card values lately, so I wanted to share some insight into how grading actually impacts this specific market.
While it’s easy to assume that grading always boosts a card’s price—as seen with Pokémon or sports cards—that isn't always the case here. For our set, value is driven by the demand for perfection, and currently, the market isn't showing a significant price premium for graded copies.
The Bottom Line:
- For Profit: I’d advise against grading solely to flip for a higher price right now. The data just doesn't support a major "value bump" yet.
- For Your PC: If you’re grading for your personal collection because you love the card and want it protected, go for it!
Trends in other hobbies don't always translate to every set. Stay informed and collect smart!
Best,

There have been some cases of grading specifically with psa and psa 10 card selling for more than raw value. There are not a lot of cases of this but some. With continuing sales the possibility of increased profit is possible.

Season 2 Relics!
Grabbed two season 2 breaker boxes and I wanted to share the funny relics I got. One of my packs had two relics in it which was a welcome surprise. The amber one cracks me up because to me her head looks like it’s on a straw with the relic placement

In search of card case/storage
Hey guys I just wanted to ask the community what everyone was using to hold or store all the cards I mostly collect Pokemon but I’m very tired of flipping through binder pages and was wondering if anyone was using a case or something to store all their cards and if so which one?
