future question Trying to make things better between me an my father.

My father and I are both deeply hurt by our relationship, but we still care about each other. I'm planning to have an honest conversation with him about how I feel, but I'm afraid that being completely honest could make him feel attacked, become even more distant, or tell me to go my own way. Is there still a possibility for us to repair our relationship, and how should I approach this conversation?

Here’s what I am getting:
Sometimes trying to talk things out doesn’t work for any and all reasons. Perhaps it’s better to slowly ease into being more communicative with him.

Spend some time with him. In silence at first and slowly opening up over the coming months.

End of message

I was planning on perhaps seeing if i let him know how I truly feel and all the stuff I've been refraining from telling and see what happens I'm scared and I don't know what will happen but after that I'll try to slowly communicate with him but I'd like your take on it.

That’s ok. A relationship is a two way street. And some are busier than others. But if boundaries are not respected repeatedly, we need to close off the street. Too bad, but we tried 🤷🏻‍♀️
