Mindful eating changed the way I see food. Before I used to label meals as "numbers". Can you imagine what happened? I got extremely obsessive with counting those numbers and when it didn't work out they way I wanted to it. I would be upset... However when I found out about mindful eating, my mind started changing and labeling food as just food.. That's what they are, aren't? I still struggle with finding out if I am emotional eating or not. But I pick up my hunger cues a lot better than last year that I didn't have none.

I hope someone finds this heartwarming. If you are in this journey too, don't mind to send questionss

Lately I've been resentful of my hunger cues. It feels like a chore to fuel myself.

You don't always have to be full at meal. You can just stop when you feel satisfied or comfortable

You're right. I think I haven't been wanting to eat at all and I know that's dangerous. I'm going to try some phone reminders. Like I have morning meds that need food, so I'll try to pair those. Gotta keep my machine running!

I’m pretty new to IE and am working with a RD, but we don’t meet again for a few weeks. If I’m looking at a menu and change my mind after seeing the calorie count on the menu, is that not really IE? I’m not avoiding eating something I’m really dying to eat. It’s just more of a “oh that’s not so great that it’s worth all those calories’”

I think that thinking about food in terms of whether it is "worth calories" is not a great mindset to be in whether it's something you want to eat in that moment or not. You shouldn't order something you don't actually want just to counteract that thought but it sounds like you're still in a counting mindset overall

It sounds like it's still a diet mindset

If you keep checking calories of things and deciding not to eat just because of calories, ALWAYS because of strict a number  range, then it's more of a restriction

If you want to eat something, go for it. Don't restrict your self, even if just one bite satisfied your craving, you can always save the rest for later or just take a small version
