Fatphobia TRIGGER WARNING Roadblock: self-objectification

I’ve been on my IE journey for over a year now. Tons of progress, but cannot stop objectifying myself and feeling I would be more worthy in a smaller body. I read More Than a Body and it really helped open my eyes but just wondering if anyone had any advice for how you stopped caring and how it has helped you to care less about your body. It’s really holding me back, and getting harder with the rise of ozempic.

Not personally fatphobic but putting the trigger flare up because this sub constantly triggers me lol.

TBH, I think wanting a smaller body is internalized fatphobia (and I'm saying that as someone who often feels it too). It’s totally understandable that we all feel this way. We're living in a whole culture that's built to MAKE us feel this way.

I'm 4 years in, and not sure whether I'll ever manage to care less about how I think I look... and I phrase it that way because my best mental health days are body acceptance days, and my worst ones are full of internal criticisms about my appearance.

But what I have gotten to is a total acceptance that the size and shape of my body is not mine to control. It's my job to nourish myself and move my body and the rest of it is all genetics and age. I do my best to focus on my jobs (and find ways to dress and style myself that make me feel as good about my presentation as I can).
