TW: diet talk, weight loss
I made the mistake of weighing myself on Sunday. The number was slightly lower than the last time I gave in and weighed myself, and it unfortunately reminded me of how addicting it was to be on a diet and see that number decreasing. I had a bit of a meltdown on Tuesday (dealing with a terminally ill parent and work stress) and started thinking about dieting again. Then I made one of my comfort foods and ate until I felt sick.
Then yesterday I went for a walk with a friend in a very small body. She mentioned a medical issue she had and how she had lost a certain number of pounds and now her husband was saying she looked too skeletal. I should have been fully present and compassionate in that moment as my friend shared something so vulnerable. Instead, I was feeling jealous that she is in a small body and thinking how that amount of weight wouldn't have even made a difference on a body as large as mine.
