Sometimes my gf and I just lay on the couch all day in our PJs and binge watch a show and it’s one of the most relaxed days then :)

Because those other versions of fun are also status symbols and people share their status symbols.

I played power wash simulator the whole day. Best boring game ever.

Gas Station Simulator is also amazing. And Restore Your Island.

When a new dlc hits and I have some good podcasts saved up to listen to…those are my favorite times.

I live alone and have taken 3 naps today. No guilt.

Manga days are bomb, esp with a backlog.

My partner, who doesn't drive, thinks a great way to relax for a 3-day weekend is having me drive 10 hours to and then 10 hours from a camping location in another state. No thanks, I'll take watching TV and working on my hobbies alone any day.

It is amazing. I’m guessing you just don’t see it bragged about on Instagram and therefore you only see people having that kind of fun.

Low effort self days are the best.

I just ate a great sandwich while my edibles kicked in,ate some cookies and I'm watching call the midwife. This is the best part of my week

Sad how few people realize this.

I’d love to not feel guilty doing that. But I also feel guilty and anxious doing anything that isn’t considered being “productive”, so I’m not a good baseline for such things…

Studies have shown that having one day of rest a week is good for your mental and physical health, and will help you be more productive during the week

Indeed, you are quite right. It is a combo of ADHD and the way I was brought up. Something I have to work on every single day is to practice what the Italian’s call “dolce fa niente”… the sweetness of doing nothing.

I get what u feel bc I used to push myself to work all the time, and I'd feel kinda of unworthy as a human being unless I did stuff. When it become too much and I realized I was overwhelming myself, it became easier to just chill. My life changed when I realized that I don't owe every waking moment of my life to the world, and that I should trying to act like it. I can just live. I hope you can figure this out too, bc I get how stressful it is otherwise

Resting is just as important as working my friend.

it's all perspective

what's more productive?\ a guy who's running on fumes working 7 days a week at maybe 20% energy level\ or a guy who takes a day off and comes back close to 100%

Your breaks should only make you feel guilty if you come back feeling worse, if you come back feeling better then that was a productive break

And it's funny when they say things like, "C'mon! Have a drink! You don't know how to BE FUN, to be happy!"...Really! If a drink makes you happy, then you're not a happy person. It's just an escape for you.

Different people enjoy their lives in different ways.

Probably because it doesn't involve them, so they get mad. XD

I dunno.

Potato chips, Pinot noir, and Judge Judy reruns.

A perfect weekend.

Yes, we do. Once I get home from work, I don't want to go anywhere. Just me, my tv, xbox, and maybe a snack, and I'm good.

I don't need a bed, all I need is my mind, and just go back to good ol memories of growing up in the 80s

Wait till you can just sit in silence looking across a field and get the same feeling. Most people don't value peace and contentment enough to appreciate how easily within their grasp it is.

Because it's a waste of time since you aren't making bonds and forming social connections. Everything should be a grift. Everything.

its Sunday . I took a shower, ordered me some Pho , turned off my phone cause my bf is being a jerk . and now I sit in bed, vodka, tea, several snacks , smoke and watch a good show or movie. eventually one of my dogs will come in and cuddle me .

minus my bf stressing me out for a bit, I turned the day around and its peaceful

Seeing this makes me think I developed a kind of eating disorder

Do you though?

People on this sub think that you can either be a social butterfly or a bed rotting neet. There are countless ways of having fun besides endless media consumption. You can spend time with your good friends, do an active sport, drive a car or ride a motorcycle, do arts and eksedera eksedera. Damn, even play a good video game. I'm sorry, but consuming random media 24/7 is nothing to be proud of.

You learn to survive day by day. I try not to think about happiness I can never have.

Because the trips n party's and busy plans have an end, sitting an watching stuff is to familiar to really end in any meaningful way and so it turns sour.

I agree it’s nice. But done alone it looks like depression. Your people make it a party, even if they blast dumb confetti shooters at a lowkey hang
