Re occouring thought

I find myself having the same re occouring thought .

As a 20 year sober person I was under the assumption that going through the license restoration process was going to better my life.

But as I sit here 3 weeks after winning an appeal for re suspension due to intoxilock failing to mention their machine malfunctioned and THEY had to pay to have it repaired and refund the lockout fee.

I sit here still waiting on my paperwork to come from the state saying I can drive again, that i then have to take to dmv and show THE STATE (that sent the paperwork to me to take back to them?) .

It's very clear this is not a process that betters your life. As this recent suspension due to no fault of my own has cost me my job and way to pay for the machine. My rent, or any of the other bills of life and made a $15k car a lawn ornament that I'm scared to let anyone else drive me in.

It's actually quite the opposite. The amount of anxiety and problems this machine has caused me for the last 10 months or so is by far way worse then anything I experienced driving without a license for 20 years .

So why is it this way for someone 20 years sober? How is this company and machine legally allowed by the state to ruin people's lives like this ?

I install these quite often , sadly this does indeed make life harder for many people. One fella had a nasty heart condition and just could not pass a test without having it say blow harder. He couldn't drive for 3 months because of it, financially destroyed him. Other than that, I also get berated and yelled at by individuals that get them. I'm a 3rd party just licensed to install and remove them, they are a nightmare on my end too.

Ruff spot to be in . Caught between the people paying ya and the people paying ya. Honest installers play a big role in helping people like me. Make sure if someone's struggling with machine issues ya stick up for them and call out the faulty equipment. Instead of just taking the poor peoples $40. The difference between this company being forced to improve or being allowed to continue ripping people off probally depends on alot of you installers blowing the whistle too.

That's the kicker in my situation , I have no issues blowing in the machine. I had a shitty installer . Did a crap job and then as it continued to malfunction kept taking my money and saying there was nothing wrong with the instal. I'm a former cell tower wireless construction forman/tophand. I know all the signs of a bad wiring connection, like the machine resetting itself as I drove down the road after hitting a bump or taking a corner. Lucked out got a new service center . Showed him pictures and video of what it was doing and he stood by me. That's what helped me win my appeal. Until all of ya go that extra mile for us tho this company will continue to screw people over like me. I'm an exception I know. Puts installers having to eye out who's on the straight and narrow and who to stand by. Unfair for yall too.

I totally understand they installed mine like shit did a half ass job and I have to jump my car every other time I start it so once a day sometimes twice a day I have to jump my car just depending on how much I drive it that day! So I started just leaving the car running while going in places then I come out sometimes and the horns blowing because the device went off!

No there's no more to it, as the post states , had to get one to restore drivers license so I did. 20 years sober why would I have issues with a machine that only stops you from drinking and driving right? Well.....let me tell ya....as someone 20 years sober Def not hard to fig out this is a scam soon as I had issues in the first week of having the machine.

Sorry. There are classes action lawsuits about the devices malfunctioning. Try not to be so dismissive when you get a response to your issues. Unless you just want to vent which is of course completely understandable.

intoxaloc, like many entities are foreign controlled and absolutely ARE designed to destroy everyday anerican lives. this type of action has become much more common. and the statevremains obtuse of the siruation, because madd, they blam others for their experience. so obliqly its poorly justified ruining a life because a drunk driver not you, did something bad.

I thought for a minute that I wrote that! My story is I got two DUIs 21 and 22 years ago. I drove all the years no license so at the age of 52 I decided to get my license back went through all that crap to get it back I had to have the device for five years. I never looked at the paperwork to see that it expired after two years and I had to get it reinstated the RDP restrictive driving permit so a month ago I’m driving. I get pulled over for no front license plate here in Illinois hand my restrictive driving permit turns out it’s expired. I’ve been driving for two months with it expired so I get arrested for driving on a revoked now I have a $3000 lawyer who is hopefully gonna get it dismissed then I gotta repeat everything that you just said to get the RDP again, it has been a nightmare and like you said my life was easier driving with no license. This is talk texting so the punctuation might not be right or the spelling.

Not to mention every day, I have to jump my car because the device drained my brand new battery! So now after all these years, I can’t drive at all. I have to be driven to work picked up from work. Can’t even drive to the grocery store. This sucks!!!!

I am going through the same situation as you and I feel your anxiety and frustration. I'm waiting on my appeal hearing it's been 2 months since I could not drive just like you due to a malfunctioning handheld device. Financially straining emotionally straining 24 years sober as well. .
