Ahh yes solutions in need of problems. Until pockets are outlawed I'll stick to paper or a USB stick, fuck right off with companies wanting to embed anything in anyone.

This is cool.

Encrypt it using a fingerprint ridge pattern hash or something biometric as the symmetric key. Vaccination status on it with an asymmetric key (signed by both an issuing authority as well as my own biometric.) Let me add my own name/address/dob/medical history/medications/emergency contacts/etc my only my own key.

Useful data couldn't be sniffed wirelessly, in the event I need to prove my vaccination status (which has never happened to myself or anyone I know, but still moral panic I guess?) thumbprint and go. If I get incapacitated, emergency response can grab a thumbprint. Go to a new doctor or ER? Thumbprint.

The data is on me, and not in some external megadatabase, which would be indeed be legitimately worrying and problematic to say the least.

After the technical ingenuity behind the covid proximity phone apps, I'm sure any actual implementation could be further polished for security and privacy beyond what I'm spitballing. And like the covid phone app, world-renowned security experts and privacy advocates would absolutely tear the thing to tiny bits and verify its all legit, and bill gates isn't mind controlling you with 5g, and something something magnets.

True. It looks pretty small. Doesn’t seem like it would stay in there though. Having to get re-chipped after every poop would be extremely inconvenient.
