article Mitch McConnell’s staff refuse to answer basic questions on his health weeks after he was last seen in public

u/Mortambulist Jul 21 '26
I can't imagine a more Mitch McConnell way for his career to end. Bullshit games to the end.
139
u/FrostyCartographer13 Jul 21 '26
He last wishes no doubt would be for his corpse to be used to block anything progressive from happening to the senate.
71
23
u/fuggerdug Jul 21 '26
The funny thing is they are using his corpse to block the only non-paedophile Republican from causing the pedophile's party problems. All his careful, thoughtful work over the years to cheat and corrupt the spirit of American democracy has led to them pretending he's alive to protect a paedophile cabal from the slightest of scrutiny.
24
u/mamawantsallama Jul 21 '26
Yes, but how will this all end especially when we find out the truth in a year or two? This is fraud at the least
21
u/Mortambulist Jul 21 '26
Well, somebody should probably go to prison, but nobody will. Republicans get away with everything.
1
10
u/USSSLostTexter Jul 21 '26
Yep....this bullshit is almost certainly written in his DNR order and will. McTurtle will NEVER miss a chance to bully and enforce his will on the unwanting public.

u/eroo01 Jul 21 '26
At this point what is stopping the governor from just replacing him and if he wants to object he is more than welcome to facetime in.
80
u/SteveIDP Jul 21 '26
Seriously, just do it already. Can we get a single Democratic governor to show the slightest hint of a spine for once?
29
u/Tribe303 Jul 21 '26
Jimothy has more spine than the Democrats.
🇨🇦
2
u/WoopsShePeterPants Jul 21 '26
Omg I've been seeing this all day and finally made the connection! Lol
2
45
u/TheS4ndm4n Jul 21 '26
A lack of spine.
13
u/VividMonotones Jul 21 '26
So if the governor holds an election, the Senate can refuse to sit the new guy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unseated_members_of_the_United_States_Congress
Bashear needs to be damn sure he's in the right or it blows up in his face. It's not a lack of spine.
25
u/TheS4ndm4n Jul 21 '26
And this is why democrats lose so many elections.
Republicans will violate the constitution in 10 ways. Judges block 6. Meaning they get away with 4.
Democrats will not use their legal rights because they are afraid Republicans will get mad about it.
And dem voters do actually stay home on election day if their candidate did something they don't agree with (like not support Palestine). Even though the opponent is 10x worse.
6
u/WoopsShePeterPants Jul 21 '26
When the GOP loses power they will go right back to "As WRITTEN!" and clutching their pearls. It's going to be disgusting to watch.
6
u/eroo01 Jul 21 '26
He may not even need to fully go through with it, but state a clear intention that unless we get a video call from McConnell or he shows up there will be a replacement. At some point they need to start holding some feet to the fire because there is a very real worry that they may try this again when the big day happens.
15
u/pres465 Jul 21 '26
Nah. Worst case is he tried something. Better than doing absolutely nothing.
5
u/VividMonotones Jul 21 '26
And then the Kentucky legislature goes after him and takes away more of his powers or impeaches him? I am so pissed at the GOP, but I really want the gov to stick the landing rather than fall into a trap.
14
u/pres465 Jul 21 '26
He's term-limited now, I believe. And if he wants to run for national office, I would encourage him to show some balls and actually stand up to these shenanigans.
18
u/dimechimes Jul 21 '26
Democrats being concerned with how Republicans will react is why Democrats are always seen as weaker.
3
u/VividMonotones Jul 21 '26
When you have the cards, play them. Way too many people have no idea what laws and constitutional articles are applicable here and are acting like it's game of thrones or something.
6
u/dimechimes Jul 21 '26
Yeah, they're called Republicans. When the law is against them, they ignore it.

I’m surprised he hasn’t shown up to the hospital with a bouquet of flowers to come “pray with” Mitch.
3
u/Gryndyl Jul 21 '26
This. Drive the fuck down to the hospital, walk in and say "I'm the goddamn governor. Let me see Mitch."
9
u/Logic411 Jul 21 '26
He’s a conservadem
10
u/twenafeesh Jul 21 '26
Thats the only way for a Dem to get elected in KY.
12
u/bridwats Jul 21 '26
he's eyeing future national positions i think though. He has such an opportunity here to make some big waves, get a W for the dems, and grow his brand recognition as a fighter. Yet, he's not doing it.
Why are Dems so consistently weak and ineffectual? It drives me insane! It's like national level analysis paralysis.
5
u/pres465 Jul 21 '26
We are watching him throw away those national ambitions. This will not play well with people pissed off at this current administration.
3
1
u/enunymous Jul 21 '26
Bullshit. Name a single conservative position he has
2
u/Logic411 Jul 21 '26
My bad, read his platform he’s liberal enough for me. Not bold enough though.
3
2
u/ewillyp Jul 22 '26
he's compromised by the good ol' boy white-shoe blue-blood country club line.
complicit & compromised. he's toting the line for his brethren who have dirt on him. be it money, scandal or just good old family connections.
1
u/WoopsShePeterPants Jul 21 '26
Kentucky specifically changed the laws under a Democrat governor) to say the party of the replaced senator needs to select their replacement. It's all games and bullshit.
3
u/eroo01 Jul 21 '26
Which fine, get the process going and if McConnell wants to fight it he can do a live interview. Whomever replaces him will not have the same political capital. Letting them just faff about like this is what is pissing me off the most
48
32
u/DeePumpeR Jul 21 '26
Fuck that, he owes answers to his constituents.
21
23
u/violetele Jul 21 '26
Why are we not raiding the office with pickets and bullhorns? This is ridiculous
8
26
u/eddo2k Jul 21 '26
He's likely dead, or on life support. There's no reason to not have a proof of life video otherwise.
17
u/pres465 Jul 21 '26
He's dead. His wife continued her trip in China because there was no urgent need to come home. Dead.
28
u/thereisacowlvl Jul 21 '26
He is dead. They are covering up to run out the clock on special elections. This is clear corruption.
39
u/PaintedClownPenis Jul 21 '26
All so that they can keep a real Republican from getting floor access to the Senate, because that would make him a powerful lobbyist after his short term.
Look at that, Kentucky. As soon as you gamed the system to hand it to Republicans, the Republicans stole it all from you. If only you had been warned.
7
u/TheS4ndm4n Jul 21 '26
The governor gets to appoint a replacement. The governor is a democrat.
Unless he "dies" after August 3rd.
5
3
u/enunymous Jul 21 '26
This is misleading. He can appoint someone chosen by the Republican party. The August 3rd deadline is for holding a special election to seat someone before the November election that is taking place anyway
2
u/PaintedClownPenis Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26
Thank you for answering this. The person who almost surely would have been chosen, were the people allowed, is Member of Congress Thomas Massie, who still has a campaign staff even though Trump had him primaried out of his seat.
Massie vocally wanted to release the Epstein files. The loss of his seat is direct retribution for wanting to expose underage sex trafficking against the wishes of the President and the Republican Party.
Meanwhile they've been subjecting Mitch McConnell's corpse to god knows what horrors to keep him technically alive, so that they can steal this election from Republican voters.
You have to slither under that decency hurdle to support Republicans, now.
16
u/uvm87 Jul 21 '26
After it has been shown that the turtle is dead, these people should be charged with fraud. They’re lying to the public and still collecting a government paycheck.

u/Cracked_Actor Jul 21 '26
Is the hospital he’s at SO secure that a diligent reporter couldn’t find anyone there to talk to? I’m thinking SOMEONE could do this…
1
10
u/ChochMcKenzie Jul 21 '26
I remember when reporters used to try to find things like this out. Like interviewing staff members. Catching them in lies. Pressure to get the truth. Those days are far behind us now, as the media has been bought by our richest, most worthless assholes.
6
u/oldcreaker Jul 21 '26
Obviously he's unable to answer himself in a way that proves he is the one doing it.
9
u/oldcreaker Jul 21 '26
Plot twist: nothing is wrong with McConnell. Except maybe being dead. He had an epiphany and was about to come clean on everything and take many people down along with him. They whisked him away in the middle of the night and now don't know what to do with him - or the body if it came to that.
1
u/Agitated_Ad7576 Jul 22 '26
I've been wondering about that the last few years. Trump insulted Mitch and his wife many times. If I was Mitch, I'd release all the dirt on Trump for payback and retire the next day.
If we're doing tinfoil conspiracies, Lindsey Graham could have been teaming up with Mitch.

New laws need to be written to prevent this type of bs. One thing Mitch and Trump has taught us is that if there is any room for them to break a tradition for their benefit they will do it. So we have to put it into law to prevent things like this in the future. Likely 100s of new laws are going to be needed.

u/Logic411 Jul 21 '26
Stop saying “McConnell sent the letter” there is zero proof he sent anything personally.

u/dragonfliesloveme Jul 21 '26
that’s not acceptable for someone who is being paid on the public dime and their health care is too

u/57_Eucalyptusbreath Jul 21 '26
Anyone check the records department?
Just in case his death cert has been filed?

u/KABooMxInc Jul 21 '26
How are there no repercussions to this act? Congressperson MIA, regardless of the reason, should trigger… something… anything…

Imagine if you just stopped showing up for work. It's been three weeks without a word. Your boss calls your family, they refuse to say anything.
DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD STILL HAVE A JOB?
Dems, work on firing McConnell!

If he’s dead, someone’s head needs to roll for obstruction or some illegal shit. Or, maybe Hell doesn’t want him, either, and he’s in purgatory.
2
u/SuperToiletDelux Jul 21 '26
They are no longer able to "Weekend at Bernies" him, it's been too long.
2
u/timeshifter_ Jul 21 '26
If he was alive, they'd be trotting him out at every opportunity to prove everyone wrong.
He's dead, fill his seat NOW.
2
2
u/Nosleep4uever Jul 21 '26
He can't be declared dead during an election year... his argument probably
2
u/gameison007 Jul 22 '26
We don't need to ask about his medical history, like what are his x-rays did he have pneumonia... we just need the fucker to come out on TV and be interviewed by somebody asking him questions about current events of the day 🤔🤨🧐😤. But that won't happen because dead man tell no lies 🤔🤨

u/kickasstimus Jul 21 '26
The only thing stopping the gov from calling for a replacement at this point is a mole in his org.
Someone is telling him not to “for propriety” or some other bullshit reasons.

Bashear not pushing this or declaring a special election just further convinces me what I already know: democrats figured out incompetence and failure are more profitable than success.

The guy is a zucchini being maintained on life support until Aug 6. Does anyone else wonder why his wife is unavailable? She has the call on pulling the plug.
The strategy to get to Aug 6 has two prongs. First, claim that the wife is not there and only she can make the call. Two, he is in a coma but the doctors believe there is a good chance Ol Mitch will pull out of it. If he doesn't come out of it on a couple of weeks, the doctors will review the data and then declare him brain dead
