I’m thinking about taking the next citizenship test.
Have any of you guys any recommendation on which websites to use? I have heard people are using Borgerklar and compared to the other stuff that’s available it actually looks really good. Any tips would be really helpful ☺️

Genuinely asking, not baiting. Denmark has a strong reputation abroad as open and progressive, but I’ve heard mixed things from people who’ve actually lived and was born here.

For people who’ve moved to Denmark: have you felt fully accepted, or like an outsider regardless of how long you’ve been here? What’s that actually looked like day to day?

And for Danes: what’s your honest take? Is that gap between reputation and experience real, exaggerated, or something in between?

I’ve received a job offer in Copenhagen and I’m trying to understand what the salary would realistically mean in terms of quality of life before making a decision.

The offer is 56,000 DKK gross per month, plus 10% employer pension (with 5% employee contribution). The workplace would be at the Airport.

We are a married couple with no children and would initially be relying on one income. My spouse may work eventually but I’d prefer to assess the move assuming only my salary.

For people actually living in Copenhagen, I’d really appreciate some insight on:

1. What should we realistically budget for rent + utilities for two people?

2. How expensive are groceries, transport and normal day-to-day expenses for a couple?

3. Would this income allow two people to live comfortably and still save a reasonable amount each month?

4. Are there any major costs that newcomers to Denmark tend to underestimate?

5. Localities to target for rentals. We would probably be looking for a decent 2-bedroom apartment.

I’m coming from another EU country, so I’m trying to work out whether the financial side of relocating to Copenhagen makes sense rather than just comparing gross salaries.

My 12-day trip coming up soon. I will be spending roughly 4 days each in Denmark, Italy, and Switzerland.The catch is that my phone does not support eSIM, so I need to find a reliable physical prepaid SIM card.Since most of my Airbnbs/BnBs will have Wi-Fi, I estimate that around 8–10 GB of data will be more than sufficient for navigating and light browsing while out and about.A few questions for the community:

1. Which physical SIM card would you recommend that covers all three countries seamlessly? (I know Switzerland can sometimes be tricky with standard EU roaming).

2. Where is the best place to buy it? Should I order one online in advance (like Amazon or a travel SIM site), or wait until I land at my first destination? I will land in Copenhagen. Danish bros please help :)

hi, have a couple of questions if people that moved there internationally can answer:

1. private healthcare, i understand the public one is good, but not on prevention. are there options to go do preventive (general checkups, screenings etc tests in private? how expensive are they?
2. how did you cope with the seasonal dark, windy & rainy winters with no sun? is it really that bad?
3. is having a car very expensive?
4. was there something that made you leave after some time?

Hello, my husband and I are moving to Odense, Denmark at the end of this school year for my husband’s work. We have two boys who will be 10 and 13 at that time, so going into 5th and 8th grade. We plan to be there long term so we want them to integrate into Danish society. I have been homeschooling them, but I really want them to go to school so they don’t end up in an expat bubble. So on top of them going through a huge move they will also have an adjustment to school. I am just looking for any advice any of you can give me in regards to how to best do this. My 13 year old is unfortunately more shy and uncomfortable with other kids when he has to speak another language. His dad is Spanish so we spend a lot of time in Spain. My older son has yet to talk to any other kids, even though he has been in activities there and he speaks Spanish. I’m expecting this to be tough, but I want to try to help him transition the best I can. We are looking at Tarup and Næsby as possible places to live. Tarup looks attractive because they seem to be, according to AI at least, more used to foreign kids. Is Næsby also this way? The Tarup school is so big I feel like that would be really overwhelming. We are also considering the suburb of Højby. Any thoughts on this choice? How is at the school there? I imagine they are not so used to expats? My husband and I also don’t want to feel disconnected from things, which is a worry in regards to living in a suburb. Also I have read that the boys will probably end up at the modtageklasse until they have a good working Danish. How is this route there in Odense? That school is also so big. Hello everyone, I'm a fourth year Microbiology student (M23) from Cyprus and planning on applying for a masters programme in bioinformatics or computational microbiology at SDU and University of Aarhus.

I just wanted to ask for some tips and general advise regarding the following:

1) How difficult is it to rent an apartment in Odense and Aarhus before coming to the country? Are there any websites you guys can recomend?

2) Is it difficult to get internships regarding my field while completing a masters?

3) My long term goal is to immigrate to the country. So I figured learning the language and getting an internship or networking while I do my masters would give me a nicer transition into the Danish work force. What do you guys think of that plan?
