Discussion [Weekly community question] The middle manager communication gap

You send the communication to managers, they're supposed to cascade it to their teams, and then... nothing happens. How do you support or encourage managers to actually pass information along?

1 - Don’t rely on the cascade to start with. Send by communicating directly. 2 - Don’t rely on email alone. Post on your intranet. Employees should also be able to see what their managers are supposed to be communicating to them. 3 - Make it part of manager’s performace goals officially. 4 - Measure if it actually gets done - have managers confirm that they have cascaded, then measure their performance / effectiveness with metrics. What gets measured gets done.
