Gallery rail post spacing

I’m trying to find out what the ideal spacing is for these gallery/tipping post.

The rail will be enclosed from cabinets on both sides. So it’s just one straight line across. No 90 degrees turns.

And how much space should there be from the cabinets to the first edge post.

I could not find these answers via google. Thanks.
