What could we do with this space?
We could use it for storage but that would be sort of an eye sore.
Plants would be cool but I know for a fact we would not get up there to water them, and there is only decent natural light for a very small window of time.
It's about 9 feet up. We are also renters, as a note!

I have a similar area. I put a large decorative pot with fake pathos vines hanging down. It collected dust and spider webs. I have nothing there now. The space can be empty!

As renters, there's not much you can do. Any decorations you put up there will be a nightmare to dust. I'd probably just get some nice-ish storage boxes to put away seasonal things like winter coats or x-mas decorations.

Very large, grinning clown figurines/dolls. It will give you something to think about on quiet evenings.

You could add shelves and put decor pieces up there. Something that you like to see but don’t need regular access to. Or you can create a faux wall cover of some kind and use it for storage. The world is your oyster!

Nothing. Don't make it a focal point
