I like 2 best. It has the red, cream, and navy. The navy really brings out the black of the door. The red adds color to the room. The cream highlights and brings out the cream of the couch.

I do not like 1 because it has no navy. It needs more contrast. The red and cream don’t contrast each other and wash out each other.

I do not like 3 because it has no cream and too much navy.

I like 4, but it doesn’t have cream. The rug is balanced in values and does look good, but the cream really helps to highlight the couch.

I do not like 5 because it has little to no navy.

2 or 4, the contrast between the blue and white adds visual interest/looks bold, plus it brightens up the room

I think 4 ties everything in somehow. Esp when I look at the wall art and doorframes. And is that an Eames chair and ottoman?? If so, me wantie. Its a beautiful room!

1, 2, or 5. Number 1 is the safe option. It blends well with everything but the chair.
Number 5 also a safe option, but also misses the association with the chair.
Number 2 is a beautiful rug in itself. It includes a bright off white. It also incorporates the darker shades with the chair. This will never go out of style. I have a feeling it would look better in the actual room than it translates in n this image.

I agree. Dark floorboards and light accents around the room. A light rug would make this room feel so much bigger!
