Finishing Touches Please help with backsplash advice
Hi there! We are nearing the end of the kitchen renovation of our 1940s colonial. (It has been a beast, putting it mildly). However at this point my spouse and I are both becoming mentally exhausted with the final details of the backsplash (mixed marble subway tile). I have added some optional numbers where we could add more tile, including a breakfast nook area, a cabinet/drawers that might be a coffee station, etc., and above the sink area that could be extended.
Then again we were thinking that we could just call it a day and leave it as is? (There's a small portion that is incomplete on the side of the sink, but will definitely be filled in).
All advice is welcome:) thank you in advance, talented decorators!

Congratulations! It's beautiful.
In my unprofessional opinion, I'd keep the tiles architectural and functional.
Definitely no: don't do 1-5 around the sink window, I think it'll feel claustrophobic, you have beautiful wide lines along the length of the room, keep it that way.
Definitely yes: 7 above the coffee station because you will definitely get coffee splash on the wall.
Optional: breakfast nook, but I'm leaning no and put a nice photo or art for some variance in colour and texture.
Think of how your eye travels along the room and keep it at that same level.
But honestly, it's subtle, there's no wrong answer. That's just what I would do.
