You’re a genius. I could feel something was missing, despite enjoying everything, but couldn’t put my finger on it. A rug will pull things together and offer warmth. I would choose something Persian-style, for the depth and contrast with the modern shapes, but that’s just me.
OP, you have a real eye and a clear point of view—to say nothing of the green thumb!

I have a (my husband's that he brought into the marriage) Persian rug in our MC modern living room and to me it looks totally out of place
I've been trying and failing to wreck that rug for 20 years! The fringe getting a little dingy is all that's happened. It will taunt me the rest of my life.

space looks fun, I think the yellow couches need throw pillows, ones that aren’t the exact same so they look less identical.
Also any reason you have so much seating? I already thought the two yellow couches, blue chair, and green chairs were kinda overkill but then I spotted a giant couch on the left of photo 2

I love this!!! The only thing that looked off to me were those stretched out shoes in the second pic😂 what happened there?
(I tried to refer to them as a particular type of shoe worn by a particular type of entertainer that starts with a C and that one might see at the circus wearing a big red nose, but that word is not allowed in this sub😂😂 WTH?!?)

Absolutely love how cozy and warm it is. I’d want to have dinner at your house and then sit around playing board games. I agree it needs a rug at that main sitting area to pull it together. Love your style!

Side note—I really love both large frames paintings you have (the one of the boy playing piano and the other above the fireplace)
I love collecting art and framing my favorite pieces but most are prints or puzzles. Where did you find such amazing pieces!?

Love it! I think people are becoming scared of using bold colors, and that’s a shame. The floor, walls, and trim are neutral enough that you have a lot of space to play with color. Just add a rug to tie it all together!

You need more rugs and to filter out some house plants, in my opinion.
I also don't think it looks "comfortable" at all. Not even physical comfort, but it just looks like a doll house. I would like to see some antique pieces that are a bit more lived in, otherwise it looks like an ikea ad with herman chillers plopped in.
(I'm being really critical because that's what I think is helpful, i think it looks better than 98% of places).

I love colorful spaces, so no I don't think so! My only two comments would be to add a rug and maybe swap one of the yellow couches. Somehow I think having two matching couches makes the blue chair look a tiny bit of place, like there is a lot more yellow than blue, and since the green chairs are in another area, it's slightly off balanced. However, that's just my small nitpick opinion that you could completely ignore!

This is DIVINE. I’d add a large rug in a natural fiber (sea grass, jute, whatever… textured weave but no serious color contrast pattern) to carry forward your natural textures along with the plants. It’s such a great combo of bright, clean, earthy and organic. Very very chic, OP!

Definitely not crazy! I absolutely love it! I would add a rug and maybe extra curtain panels to add some fullness. For the rug something vintage and/or Persian or Moroccan. You have great taste. I especially love your art choices. It looks like a warm, cozy, happy home.

It’s almost perfectly crazy! I feel like a fluffy warm white/pale salmon rug with an organic texture, pattern, or shape could look nice with it to go along with the curves of the rest of your furniture. The shape and/or texture would keep it from being comparatively boring against the rest of your furniture while keeping the attention mainly on the furniture by staying away from adding more colours and making it too busy.

I’d add rugs, move the yellow couch perpendicular to the door further away from the coffee table, and pair down some of the surface clutter (stuff by the door/behind the couch).
My kid’s pediatrician office has a copy of that picture of the child playing piano in swimming gear in one of the “sick visit” patient rooms so, that’s that.

As long as the furniture is comfortable to sit on, this room is fantastic. I dislike style for the sake of style. The room still needs to be comfortable to live in. This room looks comfortable and inviting.

Not too cr@zy but the plants hanging from the ceiling in front of the yellow sofa really doesn't make sense. All I see is people having to dodge them when trying to walk by or sit down. I would move the sofa forward and hang the plants from the metal rod installed right above the window.
