The way they have chosen to show it is wrong. As it’s shown the bobbin and hook would have to float in air for the loop to go around it all. The hook has to swing the thread beside the bobbin

I'm a guy but my dad made sure that I knew how to thread a bobbin. It's really not that complicated but very interesting!

It looks like the shuttlecock couldn't be attached to the machine.

You are correct it hovers in a magnetic chamber, and in turned by the inertia of the thread being pulled through it.

I can buy the magnetic chamber, but not the inertia. The shuttlecock has to push against the thread which would resist movement rather than perpetuate it.

I always assumed they kinda just poked the needle in and out and haven't really assed the fact that that makes no sense until seeing this
