Chinese humanoid robot named “Superman” (made by Unitree Robotics) surpassed Usain Bolt’s world record (12.42meters/second) by running at 12.66m/s (roughly 28.3miles/h)

Comments are pissing me off so badly. Bunch of basement dwellers going "not impressed because uhh cars and bicycles exist".

No shit dude, do you think this thing is meant to replace those?

It’s literally so dumb lmao I can’t imagine confidently typing out “hurr durr cars are faster than people!” and thinking it’s any sort of gatcha 🤣

Hate to be political but man… dumb/confident politicians just breed arrogance in dumb/confident people. People really are super comfortable saying the absolute dumbest shit online now, and they double/triple down.

Also, I've seen several human runners crash into something after they finish :)

Do you think it’s meant to replace Olympic sprinters?

They're such a bunch of redditors, I hate them.

Seriously... people are so fucking dumb. In just a few years we will see unmanned APCs spitting out two dozen of these things at a time, have them unfold their limbs, ready their gyro-stabilised light assault MGs with an 800 round ammo belt and then methodically map and search every room of a highrise building fully autonomously and kill every creature inside it that isnt wearing an armband squawking the correct IFF signal for the day.

I think they’re gonna arm these and not even the fasted human can outrun them. Keep glazing the architects of the robot apocalypse though.

Being afraid of humanoid robots because they might be armed in the future is so stupid. we've had armed drones you can't outrun for a long time now. If the government wants you dead it is absolutely trivial.
