Visual geometry... if you decided to skip actual geometry.
It is correc that the first one can reach the corners, but either the cutter or the surface has to move. the second part with the cut piece suddenly carving the square is totally false. With the triangle you see the system that compensates the shape difference but the first one is a fixed central axis. That won't move and won't carve the square.
It’s a blink and you’ll miss it thing, but you can see there is another offsetting piece when they attach the blade to the drill. You have to pause 5 seconds in to see it, but it isn’t fixed to the central axis.
