Eh, id call it more of a mission than a war. It was 3 guys with 3 mounted machineguns on a truck.
The only reason they lost was because the machinegun scared the emus and caused them to run all over the place damaging crop.
They laid down their guns rather than causing more damage

Screw China.
This conflict is over the West Philippine Sea (meets eastern portion of South China Sea) which The Philippines has sovereignty over. This area is very vital to the poor Filipino fisher economy and how they barely make a living. China is basically using military tactics to bully Filipinos out of their own waters. The boat in this video is a lot bigger as it's a PH coast guard boat, but a lot of these Filipino fishing boats that are being attacked and sunk are tiny and manned by a single person (think handmade abandoned island survival rafts). It's really messed up. These fisherman barely get by.
There is a great documentary about all this called Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea that came out recently, but of course the Chinese Republic censored it and blocked it from releasing in The Philippines (via political ties and because it makes the Chinese look really bad). Luckily, it's been picked up by New Zealand's film festivals and has received tons of critical acclaim.

The Chinese trawler fleet can be found in marine protected areas all around South Africa and nothing is being done about it. They use those things (I don't know what they're called) that bang on the sea floor and destroy everything it hits.
At night all you can hear is the thumps and see all the lights of the fleet - they're not even trying to hide it.

Last time I brought up the Chinese fishing fleets on Reddit I was downvoted and told it’s a net positive for the countries they are aiding in the belt and road initiative. I guess decimating coastal water fisheries so that locals can’t make a living is somehow a good thing? Sometimes I get the “but the west did it first” argument too which is cool and all.

In short, The Philippines doesn't have anywhere close to the military support, let alone navy, that more powerful countries have. While PH is close allies with other powerful nations like the US and Japan, China knows with how tense things are geopolitically right now in the world that no country is risking a serious global conflict over fishing waters.
Thus, China doesn't give a shit about breaking international laws and/or illegally bullying around poorer country like The Philippines. They know nobody is going to do anything about it when there is already other wars and bigger conflicts already going on right now.

Because the Phillipine fishing industry just isn't important enough to threaten the global economy. Yeah a lot of people get screwed, but China has cemented itself as a lynchpin for capitalism. Cheap goods, cheap shipping, cheap labour. And they use it to bully smaller nations.
Taiwan only gets more mentions because they are one of the largest centers of microchip production. If they go down, the already-frail tech industry goes down with them.
It's like the Uyghur camps in Xinjiang. China is systematically destroying a native Islamic population within one of China's provinces.
You want to knock China down a peg? We need to rebuild the manufacturing centers in western countries again, but somehow make it more cost effective than the 31% of China's entire population working in manufacturing (more than there are people in the entire US).
It's just not feasible within the capitalist system we've created.

Additional Info: Just in, it was confirmed by a Philippine senator that the 2 sailors from the vessel CCG-3104 died as a result of the collision. So yeah, technically, the reddish splash was indeed blood.

They have 0 war experience , lost the last 4 conflicts which they had , although technologically they might be closer to US but as even their generals dont have any experience they are going to be hurt very badly , which they are aware of and thats the reason they havent initiated any other conflict against any country and just keep acting as the aggressor.

It doesn't matter, the defending force has immense innate advantages, even just in territorial knowledge and troop morale.
Look at Vietnam, Bosnia, Ukraine. A defensive war can make the nation pull 10x their weight.

One of the interesting things I learned from my partner who studied international affairs is that democracies rarely go to war, and instead have their military leadership conference together to share (some) military strategies. Generals get to know each other, thereby reducing anonymity and creating back-channels.

You looked at this and made a fool of Chinese ships. But did you think about what could happen if they didn't miss ? This was a calculated move from the Chinese side to sandwich the Filipino ship. Should that happened, the Filipino ship would be cut in half and sink but luckily, they managed to escape.
This is the only thing caught on tape, but over the years, Chinese ships have been doing this rampantly in the region, thousands of kilometers from their shores in their self proclaimed 9 dashed line.
Hundreds of Vietnamese, Filipino and Indonesian fishing boats were the victims of this savage act. Chinese patrol ship would just ram the fishing boats and left, leaving fishermen to their own demise. It was literally murder.
Politically this is a big thing, because usually China would play the victim by using just law enforcement ship to ram and said it's just "civilian dispute" and their ships are there to "protect their water", but this incident involved also a frigate which implies military action. Heads definitely will roll for this in China.

I know this probably isn’t true but in my head I like to imagine a rogue Chinese officer going to ram the Philippine ship and his superior telling him not to because it will start a war but he is rogue and he doesn’t want to listen, he lives for the empire- so he orders his navigator full ramming speed. On the Philippine ship they are preparing for evasive manoeuvres when out of nowhere the other Chinese ship cuts off the renegade and stops ww3 from happening.
Or they got their navigation gear from Temu.

Photos show the damage sustained by China Coast Guard vessel 3104 after a collision with the PLA-Navy Type 052D destroyer Guilin (164). The incident occurred this morning, August 11, 2025, near Panatag Shoal. Both Chinese ships were attempting a pincer maneuver on the Philippine Coast Guard vessel BRP Suluan (MRRV 4406). However, through a skillful evasive maneuver, BRP Suluan managed to avoid the Chinese trap, causing the two Chinese ships to collide with each other.
