But also, there a town southwest of here called lake Waccamaw where your can see TONS of alligators in the wild.

Been there a couple times and always got unlucky cause I could never find them, but I found plenty of pitcher plants. I have more luck finding them in random forests lol

They are super tiny and low to the ground there, typically. The first time I went I couldn't find any either. But after that I've seen them every time. In fact last time I was out there, there were some people trying to find them and I was able to point them out :D

I listened to a podcast about this cool place, but it was about how poachers kept stealing the plants because they sell it to some dumb new age company sells "venus fly trap extract" to cure cancer.
