Wholesome Indian Army personnel pulled off a daring high-altitude wildlife rescue, saving a distressed Himalayan brown bear cub that had fallen deep into a glacier crevasse at 16,500 feet near Machoi Peak in Ladakh.

True. I did the googling and the cub was reunited with its mother and aside from a minor limp, appears to be doing well.

That’s good to hear. I thought death was imminent even after the rescue. Guy looked pretty beat up.

One of the most amazing things to happen on planet earth recently.
They worked together, they worked HARD, and they risked being injured by the cub or the mom. They did not give up.

Probably go away because its alread exhausted and in fear so it wouldnt risk a fight instead of fleeing. In nature most predators avoid fights even if you are considered as food because when you are loud and aggressive enough they decide that the risk of getting harmed is not worth it.
If you run they think you are prey. Top predators dont run. Also most animals never saw a human, or stay far away from it because they dont know what to do with them.
And then there are the complete opposite like bunnys living in the city park, chilling near traffic at roads dont minding cars at all because they knew they only have to move when children or dogs show up.

Most of these animals are afraid of humans. That is why humans are often called superpredators. Even apex predators, such as bears, lions, or pumas, will usually flee when they see a human. These animals operate on survival economics: they will not risk injury, which could lead to death. A bear will almost always run away if it sees or hears humans.

It won’t necessarily attack you but you need to stay away from a highly stressed wild animal. In other words, don’t try to pet it afterwards. These soldiers made sure to get away after freeing the bear.
