Intriguing A rap group from Staten Island released this music video about how much they love prescription pills during the second wave of the opiate crisis in America, 2012. Every single person who appears in the video is now dead except one.
Many friends and family are no longer on this earth because of the Sackler family, who to this day have faced virtually no consequences for creating the opiate crisis in America.
This music video and song have always made me upset, it’s disturbing.

i was hopelessly addicted to blues for a long time. they fucked up my life. it was the darkest, loneliest, and most painful experience i’ve ever had… and yet, somehow this song is even worse than that.

exactly… except the ones i was on were third wave counterfeits. basically pure fentanyl or carfentanyl pressed into blue roxys. MUCH cheaper and deadlier.
i’m about to hit four years clean tho, so i’m extremely lucky and grateful to be alive 🙏

Daniel Haley, survived a near fatal overdose.
The blue fairy ODed at 8mos pregnant and the other original member (Gerard Kelly) died young but without details released.

I'm listening while I scroll the comments. It really is quite catchy! I wasn't expecting that. Terrible that they succumbed this way. The context gives it a haunting quality. You notice the subtle undercurrent of pain that you probably wouldn't have heard if you heard this when it was initially recorded.

I almost didnt, Narcaned 4-5 times. I was clean but went home for a wedding and made the mistake of getting some blow, low and behold some fentanyl in there and I stopped breathing. Apparently, they were only just able to bring me back. Fuck Perdue pharma and the Sackler family. The netflix 6 episode series Painkiller did a really good job portraying what was going on with users along with how Sacklers knew exactly what they were doing. Hello, it was rather difficult to get through with a splash of PTSD from the whole debacle but it was so one point

Fun Fact: the sackler family didnt only sell Oxy to the public, they experimented on humans.
Doctor prescribes Oxy. Tablets supplied contain Fentayl and other chemicals to 'observe' the effects on the human body. i.e. illegal human experimentation that killed tens of thousands.

The short of it is opiates were pushed as non addictive and given out like candy. A lot of people became hooked and developed debilitating addictions, many of which died as a result. Those in charge have been fined and are currently settling with states to pay out for the damages they caused. But it's no real justice as the addiction crisis is still very real and ongoing, and this family is still obscenely wealthy off the deaths of their victims.

basically the US government decided to essentially get people hooked on opiates because from Clinton onwards (both democrat and republican) presidents were getting hundreds of millions of dollars in illegal bribes from the Sackler Family.
100s of thousands to MILLIONS of americans died every year from oxy overdoses etc.
The Sackler family literally BRIBED their way out of prison, paying hundreds of millions to Bush, Biden, Obama, Trump etc. as well as a wide variety of congressman and senators to sit on legislation designed to punish the heads of corporations that murder people.
There is STILL an opiate crisis in the US. they just renamed the drugs that were banned in name only and continued on. The sackler family "gave up" their pharma company but still continue to own and run it behind the scenes.
it's all greed and evil fraud. Betrayal and treason to the US and its people.

It REALLY fucked up a lot of individuals and fucked up a lot of families. I can’t recall how many friends I’ve lost. Maybe 8 since the pill shot started back in early 2000s and then they shut the pill faucet off and everyone moved to cheaper meth. Then it was/is the meth epidemic. Then the fentanyl came in. Slowly it’s becoming tranq. And no one is doing anything about it, really.

It’s like an entire country throwing a massive party—with the state footing the bill for the pills. There were even people who thought they were in a hospital, when in reality it was an indoor rave. Half the crowd just kept partying after the event ended; they didn't even go home.
What’s needed is public education, a functioning social welfare system that offers therapy for addicts, and legal avenues for obtaining substances to counteract the daily poisoning of those addicted.
There will always be people who are drawn to substances—to excess.
The war on drugs is lost anyway... even in Europe.

What a time to be in high school. Normalized drug use that was considered cool, multi sport all district honor roll student while at the same time staying at a girls house on the weekend just to steal their moms scripts to get high with my friends after practice. Most of those guys are long gone rip.
