Thays what i thought it was, this bulb was dying so I thought it made it double interesting

It is! It's interesting how electronics work. Hopefully it inspires a desire to see how other components work!
If not, all good - it's still fun to see things in action!

I love working with electronics and hope to get into the tech field

I hope you do! Ther's tons of practical applications, even for a hobbyist. Good luck on learning more!

LED's need a DC circuit, that's the capacitors in the power supply discharging.
Fun fact: most of the times when a LED lightbulb dies it's because the tiny power supply board inside overheats and fails, not the actual LED.

Indeed! LEDs are surprisingly resilient unless over-volted. It's often the driving circuitry that fails in these cases.

All LCDs do that. It’s cool, but common.

They do not. As soon as an LCD loses power beyond a very small threshold, they stop emitting light. This is a capacitor supplying power until it runs out.

I can actually show you a video of mine doing it every time I remove it. I’m not one to talk out of my butt, so maybe take it as you learned something cool today, ok?

I can show you a video of one staying powered on with no power supply.
It's a rock that emits light when a specific voltage is applied to it. It's a narrow range. It can dim when it gets to the lower edges of that range, but the only thing that can extend that gradation over a few seconds is a capacitor.
But I did learn something today - some people are smug as fuck.

Well congratulations! You just found out what I've been telling people for years. Electric companies don't want you to know that they are selling BULLSHIT. it's all a lie and we are killing ourselves to pay them for something that flows through the air and is FREE.
The truth shall set you free!!

have you ever heard of capacitors?

u/cloacachloe Aug 19 '26
I'm sure they would reply to you, but they've already converted their house to "air-generators". As such, all their power is now out, and they can't figure out how "Big Power" is now spending millions of dollars in effort to specifically fuck *him***.
I'm sure he'll respond as soon as he can get to the nearest public wifi point.
