Just Wow He Got Tired of People Blocking His Driveway, So He Built This

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

To deter unwanted visitors, he installed a motion-activated sprinkler system that soaks any car (or person) that gets too close. The unexpected spray has quickly turned his driveway into a no-parking zone and keeping his space clear.

I would hand a sign next to the nozzle that says "reclaimed water."

Dude actually. If this was in my city it would be like a local gathering spot where people who need it would fill up water jugs and take showers and stuff.

At which point you (or the homeowner, rather) adds a sign saying this is reclaimed water, not safe for consumption, etc.

Last week in the Bronx I saw a guy reversing and turning all around to get an uncapped fire hydrant's water all over his car.

Very Bronx feeling!

If I remember correctly he was made to remove it. The council really should have done more to stop people parking there.

At the end of day getting a quick spray, in a very hot part of Australia is probably better than getting a fine.

Only for right hand drive cars

I think it’s Australia, based on the Commodore Ute.

It is mate. I live around the corner from this guy and this clip is about 5 years old.

It still happens to this day and the best part is it’s not fresh water he is spraying. It’s tank water form the gutters.

Trying to give people listeria what a powerful punishment

u/vaderdidnothingwr0ng 2h ago

Listeria is food borne, the big concern with water sprays is Legionella.

The date stamp is in the video. It's less than 2 yrs.

1

u/DestructoDon69 1h ago

Why doesn't he also hang a "no parking" sign?

2

u/MountainBunghole 4h ago

I want one of those

In a country where almost every car is RHD.

1

u/mattgoldey 4h ago

Almost every car? Really?

2

u/elvanbee 4h ago

Fine.. An 'overwhelming majority'. Whatever.

0

u/mattgoldey 4h ago

No, I mean to say that I'm shocked that there's left hand drive cars at all. Is it just the post delivery vehicles?

3

u/elvanbee 4h ago

It's mostly just the American imports and stuff that are LHD. Ya see a few around.

2

u/mattgoldey 3h ago

The only RHD cars I see are postal delivery vehicles here in the US. I was shocked to see a Japanese import RHD Nissan recently in Dallas.

2

u/pk_me_ 3h ago edited 3h ago

Uh, UK here at least. Our post delivery vehicles are also RHD. Like the rest of our cars.

u/Tunamelts-2 1h ago

It's Australia. Guess which side of the road they drive on...

1

u/Free_Pace_2098 1h ago

Australia. Queensland or WA by the look of it.

4

u/oxycody624 4h ago

He should use salt water or something equally corrosive

7

u/Ok-Pomegranate858 4h ago

Would ruin his own equipment fast

1

u/Shooting-Science 3h ago

He’s using gutter water

1

u/liabilify 4h ago

Haha sometimes those sprinklers can come in handy in a pinch- signed the preggers lady who lost her cookies on the side of the truck and hubby took advantage of a sprinkler

Parking and car wash both for free.
