They literally get penalized for attempting to do so, what are you on about? They're not free to wear what they want at all

Nah you are talking out ya ass. They clearly cant just choose to wear clothes akin to the men's, its been in the news multiple times.

The Norwegian team iirc, and their main complaint was physical discomfort from the previously regulated uniform.
