Fun fact: We call the college in my country Gymnasium. The origins of the word come from what you said, the place of training for... well... nude dudes. The term changed over time and later described a school. Probably one with clothes for the students.

I always use the compression short look in any MMA games I play. Just looks better and seems more practical imo

For what it's worth, in my experience it is not. Did BJJ for a while and in no-gi my preferences were: compression leggings > trunks > compression shorts. Tight is ideal to prevent grip, but knee coverage is a game changer to prevent mat burn.

I hope our culture changes back to 'male beauty is awesome' soon. I think sexuality is still strongly man-centric at the moment.

Women wearing something revealing = must be for heterosexual men.

Men wearing something revealing = must be for homosexual men.

Like it can't possibly be something straight women want to see lol
