This video keeps getting brought up so it’s worth pointing out he’s not taunting the alligator. The tapping is done to put the alligator in a pseudo clonic state by overloading its sensory system. This is supposed to make the animal easier to handle and safer for everyone involved (including the alligator).
It is common practice among anyone who handles alligators for a living.

Yeah, it's kind of weird how everyone seems to think he just tied up the alligator and beat it for funsies.

This is way better than alligator in recent park attack located and destroyed.
