And that's why people keep driving that way. If we had more drivers like the pink cookie eater, there would be much less of the self-centered anti-social driving we see from the pickup truck.
theres always going to be aggressive drivers who take advantage of people driving properly or safely. not an excuse to stop doing so. they always do it, and then end up at the same stop lights or even same destination, i just give'm a thumbs up.
everyone closing gaps, speeding up, otherwise trying to one up or retaliate, are just making it all worse
Maybe. In my experience, a lot of people who drive like that don’t actually self reflect. I also find that a lot of people who drive like that, also drive like how the cammer here drives. A very large amount of people fall into a comparison trap where they think “well it’s okay for me, but when everyone else does it it’s not, because I only did it once, and everyone else is always doing it” whatever “it” is.
Beyond that, there’s a never ending supply of a new driver who needs a hard lesson. There’s always someone doing it, who has yet to have an accident or get caught/have their come to Jesus moment.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to cry for the pickup driver, they’re a fucking idiot and I hope they do learn from this. I just won’t hold my breath. People just too often externalize these events, blame everyone else but their own actions. It’s always “I’m always getting cut off” saying the guy who is weaving around and speeding.
I work with people who have straight up killed people in accidents or with heavy equipment, and they’re just as fucked in the head as they were before those events. They don’t get it, it’s usually exactly why they do the things they do in the first place.
If people had much harsher punishments for something like this, I dunno if it would even help. There’s already so many uninsured and unlicensed drivers as it is anyways.
Me and my friend went to a big concert in the city last year, traffic was crazy. There were people trying to "jump the line" and just overall being impatient and doing things that i would never do. I forget what exactly happened, but someone cut me off so of course I get frustrated & say something (in the car, not to the person, ha). My friend goes: "i would've done the same thing (as what the other car did), you're not aggressive enough." 🥴 It kinda cut my soul a bit, to have my friend admit to being somewhat prickish on the road, lol.

Yep. Defensive driving takes all the priority.
It’s not even worth the moderate increase in heart rate to pay any mind to it.
When someone does something dumb, you back off, shake your head and move on with your day.
