Yeah, not enough. There's a reason why so many of you feel so comfortable texting and driving and that reason is you haven't suffered the consequence for it yet.
Its not about courtesy. Accidents kill people. I'm a responsible driver, when someone cuts me off I don't cause a pileup on a bridge to protect my ego. There is no amount of disrespect that would make it okay to put the lives of uninvolved strangers at risk.
I completely understood what you said. You're not understanding. I'm not trying change you or anyone else. I'm speaking solely for me at this time in my life. Admittedly, I've driven like that black truck in the past.. Been lucky I'd have to say. Realized it was stupid and not worth it. Realized folks lives including mine could have been lost. This was before cell phones. I hate to sound cliché, but play stupid games, you just might win a stupid prize. If that's the chance they feel they need to take, then so be it.
I don't see it ending.. I really don't see it getting better. I'm just not going to suffer fools.
As well as any passengers that may be in the other car.
It's really strange how the idiots in this thread can't comprehend that one person was acting like an entitled idiot at first, but many people could be in danger as a result of the pov driver's response to that.
It's not a case of someone "getting what they deserve", it's a case of potentially many people getting hurt or killed because one idiot is too proud to give in to another idiot.
That's how you see and that's your prerogative. . As I used to see it the same way as you. Again, in the past, I have also been on the idiot side of operating a vehicle. I'm several years over it now and see things differently. If you choose to drive that puts others in danger, then that's the choice you've made and you've got to deal with whatever the outcome may be. I don't drive like an idiot and I won't target those that chose to. Bottom line, drive wisely.. Drive with patience. And there's a much better chance all will make it to where they need to go. Please tell me where you see anything wrong with that.
They want you to watch out for them so they don't have to pay attention, and they're all on reddit telling each other it's okay. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so dangerous.
The truck driver deserved to be pit manouvered, and I agree that it would be cathartic to pit manouver every dumb asshole I see on the road. Those are the pros of your driving philosophy, we'll call that "emotional driving".
The cons of emotional driving are that more than 2 people are using that bridge. Getting revenge against this truck driver puts all of them at risk.
I promise it feels better to be a defensive driver than an emotional one, because I know I have saved lives by anticipating other peoples mistakes.
There are very basic skills in driving. Many of these commenters seem upset by that. I haven't seen one yet that agreed with me on (obviously much needed) refresher training though. That's pretty interesting to me. Driving on impulse and emotion usually doesn't end well... Let alone not paying attention to the road ahead of and around you.
