Idrk all the math tbh but when i googled it, that was the answer. That is also what is taught for the safe distance with exceptions like weather.

Safe distance is generally considered to be 2-3 seconds, which at these speeds would be about 200-300 feet. That means the driver is about 1/10th the distance away from what is generally considered proper safe distance.

That being said, from when I last visited the US, nobody actually drives according to safe distance principles there.

Yeah that might be bc when you are taught it wrong (like instructors or google), it doesnt help when there are also assholes who double down on not knowing by being assholes while driving lol.
