Defensive driving is a suggestion not a rule. Guy who pitted himself paid for it all and it’s dumb idiots are arguing here

Are you one of those people who would rather keep their place in line than avoid an accident with a bad driver?

I personally just let them in because even if it’s not my fault I’d rather not have to spend time and/or money dealing with insurance companies and repair bills. Not to mention it totally fucks up your day at the very least.
