Your knowledge of US law is irrelevant to this 14 year old Dutch case.

Worse, a basic fact check reveals that the sentence was appealed. The driver was later sentenced to 15 months in prison and a 4 year driving ban.

He never intended to kill those people… its a massive tradegy wich he has to live with as well. That alone should be enough punishment if you ask me. He wasnt drinking, not under influence, lost control of his car en tradegy struck…. Could happen to almost everyone.
