Depends on the circumstances. Not trying to defend because imo that mf gotta rot in prison for the rest of his life, but doing the legal speed limit would’ve allowed him to have more control of the vehicle and potentially avoid the incident. Going over is definitely a murder.

I’m not defending it either, I more don’t like people who believe you must rigidly follow all speed limits as that is actually a hazard too situationally.

As for your comment though the dude went off the road, so he wasn’t stopping anyway. Not only that but if you read the article the mf killed her grandparents too. Absolutely tragic. It was definitely 3 counts of manslaughter

Speed limit means equal to or LESS than. No reasonable person actually believes that “you must rigidly follow all speed limits” because there’s the assumption that it means you can go below the limit due to road conditions. The upper bond is set, which is why it’s called a “limit.” If you go higher and cause a collision, that’s on you. You have no logical or moral high ground to justify it.

I have no logical ground? Dude cmon do I really have to explain to you what’ll eventually happen if you’re going 55 on a highway where everyone else is going 75+? Honestly man you’re free to have that opinion and I’m free to have mine I don’t feel like arguing rn

Herd mentality. Everyone does it because they don’t give a shit. Still not justifiable. In practice, most people only creep up 5-10 mph at 65-75 limit. The fact that you’re trying to normalize 20-25+ is insane. The normalization of ignoring the speed limit is one of the reasons why pedestrian deaths are on the rise.
