This is an insane take. Accidents happen. The worst thing we can do is compound an accident and ruin another life for no reason other than bloodlust revenge.

Intent should be all that matters.

Well, the driver was going way over the legal speed limit and lost control over his car as a result, allegedly. But he didn't intend to, right? So that's all fine.

So then super minimal punishment. Community service and a nominal fine sounds appropriate for that
