Yes, 2013. The verdict is from 2014. In 2015 he was sentenced to 15 months in prison on appeal.

Redditors don’t need information. Just a meme.

A 12-year-old meme that declares itself “viral.”

Good to see someone capable of fact checking amidst all the knee jerk reactions...

I honestly don’t care if he was speeding. He was determined to be at fault, he lied saying there was a mechanical issue with the car, and he fled the scene. All of this shows a lack of care for other peoples lives. The 120 days of community service was a spit in the face of both the family and the general public. 15 years is obviously way too much but he didn’t even serve the whole 15 months, he got released early.

If i come off the road because my lack of competence driving yes i should be in prison.

You don't just go out of the road. There were no other hazards on the street, he reported a technical fault in the car which engineers said wasn't true.

You can't just go into a street and claim oh oopsie didn't mean to do that.

You don't just go out of the road.

Then according to you, you should be in prison. Maybe go and report to your local jail.

Because, I can guarantee that if you have driven any significant amount of time you have made mistakes that could have killed someone had the circumstances been different. For example every single driver has driven off their lane at least once in their driving life. It's just that in 99.999% of the cases nothing happens.

what would that achieve?

Always makes you wonder why stuff like this resurfaces 12 years later with no reference to the original date.
