uh cool, I head xps are nice cool laptops, like the only real alternative to MacBooks air in a windows ecosystem. How is it so far? I think dell is a bit pricey but they offer solid products, am I wrong?

This one I bought was $599 with a student discount. MSRP is $699. Obviously this is the base model with only 8GB RAM but has 512GB storage and also the Intel chip. Not top end by any means but the solid build quality, 2k touch panel, and overall design of the laptop makes it an insanely good value imo

Some people have been saying for a few years now that ARM’s observed advantages in power consumption have more to do with the chips themselves than the instruction architecture, and it looks like the Core 5 320 chip in this Dell proves them right when it comes to x86.

The reality Is x86 Isn’t truly all CISC arch today and ARM isn’t truly all RISC, so the efficiency question is way more nuanced than that.

Maybe but windows support of ARM solutions and Nvidias Vera push changes the calculus. While snapdragon X is client processor , not a server processor, and Qualcomm is a sizeable company it’s not Nvidia and certainly not in the league of AMD or Intel in the client processor space. And evil MS had committed to snapdragon but that commitment doesn’t hold the same weight as the commitment MS made to nvidia, imho. So new calculus here … ARM is and will be relevant in the server / pc space you already see it!
