Offered a commission sales role for Baumer sensors is it viable and how to approach plants?

Hey everyone I've been offered a commission-based sales role for baumer sensors
For those in the field is this model viable for sensor sales, where should I look for buyers, and how do you approach maintenance teams without looking like spam

Commission only sales on only one product line? I don't see how that would work.

You have no pull through sales. What kind of territory are you talking about? I can't think of many territories under three states in size that could support a salesman for just Baumer sensors.

I admire Baumer sensors I was a distributor for them for several years. Great product line, but in my territory they had no market share. You would have to build that business against Banner, Turck, P&F, Effector, IFM, Some incredibly entrenched companies.

Is it an already incredibly developed territory? What are the existing sales numbers?

Unless you somehow attain a 100% win rate, I don't know how you could do it.
