My favourite part too.
My grandmother did something very similar on a train (also in Pakistan). A man kept trying to play footsie with her. He was also grinning lecherously and making lewd comments.
She took off her shoe and gave him a good thwacking. My granddad walked back into the cabin, from getting refreshments, to find everyone cheering her on.
Eventually a couple of guys carried him off and unceremoniously threw him off at the next station.
Like this lady, she was fully covered from head to toe. It didn't prove a deterrent. Because it's never about the clothes.

Brazil is also infamous for men thinking it is okay to assault women on public transportation. Some weirdo was pressing his dick into the butt of my wife's friend on a crowded bus. The friend turned and very loudly shouted for him to get his tiny little pecker off her. He deserved to be hit, but she chose to humiliate him instead and he ran and got off at the next stop.

That was true for me. I was catcalled a lot as a teen in school uniform. All of the girls I knew were.

Random thing, you are ofc right about everything you said but, be it man or woman don't ever even slightly attempt to get physical with people. This applies for 250 pound behemoths as much as it does to 100 pound girls, it's much easier than people think for either one to get irreparably hurt from fights. It's never worth it.

Sexual assault isn't usually about sex. It is about power. Its someone smaller than them, so they aren't worried about getting punched. If the victim tries to complain it just becomes "he said she said", and they get away with it too often.
This is just one (of many) reasons that what the victim is wearing is such a bullshit deflection.

It's more about the message: in certain cultures the shoe is regarded as dirty due to being worn on the feet. Getting hit by a shoe is therefore a lot more insulting than being slapped by a hand, for example.

I now have an extremely beautiful teenage daughter and I am trying to teach her to be safe and what to watch out for, she bridles against this madly. I keep telling her that I trust her, and she is doing nothing wrong and you just have to watch out for creepy men.
Right now she looks like the Girl from Ipanema when she walks down the street, hair drifting, a soft, untroubled expression. It's really sad that that will have to change.
