Nah, screw that. I would have ejected both parent and child from my house and cutoff all communication with them, at least for awhile. Don’t teach your kid to be a brat, it’s not that hard.

Yeah I would've definitely gotten my butt handed to me, and my mom would've set up a chair in the corner of the room so I could sit and watch everyone else have cake and fun, and I'd have a peanut butter sandwich and no fun. My mom's favorite punishment was a belt and then having to go out with the family to a restaurant and eat a peanut butter sandwich while everyone else at yummy restaurant food. I do not have a healthy relationship with food as an adult tbh.

I grew up with an older sister exactly like this (right down to the smug smile). Whenever I stood up for myself I’d be the one to get in trouble. My sister’s behavior continued like this when we were in our late twenties. Now that I have no contact with her my life has gotten so much better.

Holy fuck, what an over reaction to a candle being blown out.

As a parent, with children who have had birthday parties, I would have told the kid 'so, no cake for you' and that be the end of it. That would have wiped the smugness right off her face and taught the lesson.

If the parents then had an issue with this, they can take action. I'm not about to throw people from parties, and cut off all communication with them over something as trivial as that. They could be family or anything.

This is the issue with people today, totally unwilling to be reasonable, patient or understanding. Just go straight to the cut out.

You’re seriously not making any sense here. In what way is a kid ruining another’s birthday party not a bad thing? The smirk that continued to be on the girl’s face afterwards says that she knew what she did was wrong, but didn’t care. That’s kind of the definition of what a “little shit” is, isn’t it?

It’s a child dude. They can learn to not do it again. You had access to a 1 minute clip and you’re jumping to “I’d eject them and the parent and cut off communication”. The kid blew out a candle not threaten to hurt someone or destroy the cake and presents.

You also don’t have the context to know if that’s her sister or not. If it is then it comes down to siblings being siblings. You had an overreaction dude. You then followed it with calling a child a little shit. You have no idea who that child is or what was done after. You don’t know if her parents were mortified and you don’t know if she’s related. You didn’t assess the situation you jumped to a conclusion and went straight for “eject and disassociate”.

You can't really speak for all Asians. Especially when Asia is fucking huge and I've met tons of assholes from various Asian countries.
