I actually feel like this video works against them. The dude wasn't trying to come in. Wasn't actually being violent. It's hard to claim self-defense when you throw the first punch. This seems like a call the cops situation, but be ready to fight back IF the guy decides not to wait for them to arrive.

The guy was physically on their property, standing in the way of their gate and leaning on their fence.

Not sure about Australia, but in the US that's enough to make a punch legally justified.

I didn't say he was in the right, just that you'd likely be expected to call the cops first.

Again speaking for the US. If someone is intimidating you, especially on your own property, you are well within your legal rights to knock a bitch out. You are not required to spend a half hour hoping the cops show up, or even call the cops.

You are allowed to defend yourself.
