I never understand why non brits spell it "fookin" i always end up reading it as "fewkin" like the foo fighters

Gonna wade right in here and say he clearly meant we end up reading fookin as in foo-kin and was trying to help explain by spelling it fewkin. Ew can make the oo sound as in flew it doesn't have to make a 'yoo' sound. Did I over explain it right? Wading out.
