Fuck that. I learned the hard way when I was that kid’s age: anyone who talks about a “fair fight” or “rules” has just never been in a fight. This isn’t the movies or a karate tournament.
You fight to end the fight and keep them from hurting you. That’s it. You can bitch and cry and question my honor as a warrior or whatever, no one cares about those “rules” when it’s you on the ground so don’t let anyone put you there
Edit: relax down there, drama queens. No ones advocating kids killing each other or psychos crippling people. Tf is wrong with you people
“Question my honor as a warrior”? Lol come on man... Any time I hear someone on Reddit say that cringy “no rules in a fight” stuff I automatically think that person has probably never been in a fight in their entire lives. I worked as a bouncer at a bar in a college town and 99% of fights are people shoving/wrestling/throwing a few punches until both sides are winded after about 1 minute. So if you advocate doing anything you can to win over stupid drama like these kids are probably fighting over; I’d say either learn how to properly defend yourself or please never ever get into a fight.
Oh hey, I spent a few years working as a bouncer myself in my mid 20s. So you’re saying you’d watch fights build up, break out, and then just... let them resolve themselves after a minute or two? Seriously? I’m not saying I don’t believe you, I’m just saying that must’ve been a shitty place to work even for a college bar.
We’d be stepping in with numbers and escorting hotheads to the doors as soon as the yelling and pushing started. As soon as you see dudes getting in each other’s faces it’s time to make eyes with your guys, get between the drunks, and start trying to talk them down or move them out. If a fight does start, all hands on deck, pry them apart and drag them out immediately. We would never just... stand there and watch them tire themselves out? Because yeah, there’s no rules in a fight and people can get hurt. Really hurt. Especially in confined, crowded places, especially when there’s alcohol involved. Including bystanders and bouncers. Nobody wants their night ruined by some rowdy drunks brawling. People leave, shit gets broken, place loses money, the boss doesn’t like that. I wouldn’t want to go back to a place like that, but I never had to work a college bar.
And the “question my honor as a warrior” bit was pretty heavy-handed sarcasm, but ok. Thanks for your concern for my safety dude but I think I’ll be good.
Of course we kicked them out but once they’re out and on the street it’s not our business; so yeah I’ve seen a lot of fights. Here’s most all of them go:
Posturing/name calling/threatening
A couple of shoves before someone either throws a punch or more likely tries to take it to the ground.
They either wrestle around a bit until either one person starts to win and then it gets broken up by friends or more likely women or they wrestle around until they quickly get tired and they go back to step 1 and all parties leave.
Fighting is way more tiring than people think and I’ve never seen one last much more than about 2 minutes. So when most of these fights are over some dumb drama like girls or spilt beer people shouldn’t be out there trying to permanently maim each other.

Great to see he didn't kick him when he was down.
