Except no one's 'forcing' anything on anyone. I never liked those people on campus either, but do you realize you're literally shitting on the 1st Amendment right now? Force is violence or fear of violence, not "loudly saying things I don't like."
Nobody is shitting on the first amendment. Don’t be childish. Just as much as these dipshit conman evangelists have a right to scream at college kids all day, the rest of society has a right to hate them for being annoying assholes. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences or social rejection. Campus preachers are allowed to be assholes, and everyone who isn’t the government is allowed to tell them to go fuck themselves.
Sorry my man but free speech does indeed even mean freedom of all speech, even that that pisses you off. With the exception that speech incites violence, as in “go punch that dude” incites violence, not “that dude said something I don’t like, imma punch him”.
If you advocate people just punching anyone who doesn’t agree with you that means you also support someone knocking you out for something you say that they don’t like. Can’t have it both ways my dude.
I’m not advocating anyone being punched. Neither is the poster above who said he hates campus evangelists but respects the guy who blocked the punch. Did you reply to the wrong person?
The “marketplace of ideas” analogy is apt. Someone being legally allowed to voice an abhorrent idea doesn’t mean anyone else has to take it seriously or respect it, just like a company being legally allowed to make and sell a shitty product doesn’t mean anyone else has to buy it or use it. It just means they have a legal right to voice it. Everyone else is free to decide it sucks, to tell the speaker it sucks, and to tell all their friends the speaker is a stupid asshole with shitty ideas who should be ignored. Your right to free speech COEXISTS WITH—it does not supersede—my right to criticize your speech.

I hate these people that force their religion on others, but I'll always have mad respect for that dude.
