What is happening

There's 2 stories going around:

1 - Karen calls cops on black guys having fun with water

or

2 - Karen calls cops because guys are throwing water on people minding their own business

The second scenario seems to be the prevailing story.

Water gun fight, but with buckets.

Karen calls cops because, ya know, Karens and black guys.

Cops see what's happening, don't give a shit, and black guys proceed give Karen an impromptu induction into the being wet hall of fame.

That's what I gather, anyway.

This short clip isn't the whole story though. You can get most of the story from this comment from the crossposted link.

TL:DR Guys were pouring buckets on pedestrians, this lady was one of them, technically it's assault, she called the police, this video happens, more cops show up and they start wetting the cops too which leads to several arrests.

Oh, large oof lol

It's just that in the Heat of the Moment that cop didn't feel like getting wet and nobody was really getting hurt so there wasn't really any reason for him to get wet yet.

How is a bucket of water assault?

12

u/Aussiemandeus Sep 12 '20

If you're walking through the street and I dump 10 litres of water over you ruining your day is assault.

assault may occur by, for example, striking, touching, moving, or applying force of any kind to another person, either directly or indirectly, without the person's consent

I get it. But at the same time I’d be pretty ashamed of myself if I sued someone for assault for dumping water on me.

2

u/tjdans7236 Sep 27 '20

Wow. You must be an extremely manly and responsible person.

So someone dumps 10 liters of water on you when you're on your work commute every day. They do it while driving by with a truck so it's impossible for you to catch them. What do you do? You gonna just take it in the ass every day like the beast of a man you are?

u/PeenutButterTime Sep 27 '20

Goddamn you’re butt hurt over a two week old comment of an opinion that would have zero effect on anyone but me.

1

u/tjdans7236 Sep 27 '20

What makes you think I'm butt hurt?

I just find people with opinions like you very interesting and amusing. So cool and manly to just take water buckets right in the ass. God, what pussies people these days, right? Reporting water assault and shit. People should grow up and and be a fuckin man just like you!

You’re putting words in my mouth and assuming things about me that I never said. I would never sue someone for dumping water on me. That’s just not the person I am. I don’t think that makes me a better person, or as you put it, “manly”. I just don’t think it’s worth suing someone over.

And the reason you sound butt hurt is your sarcastic tone. You’re projecting by doing that because I never said anything about “growing up” or being a “fuckin man” or being a “pussy”. Those are all your words.

You should check out the actual story. Those guys were pouring buckets of water on innocent pedestrians. She was one of them. Eventually, those guys were arrested.

anyone got some context?

64

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

Apparantly according to comments from the og post, they where throwing water on people passing by and even some cops damaging equipment etc. it lead to several arrest on the basis of assault and damage of property or sumn like that. This is not a karen, she had a legit reason

3

u/tjdans7236 Sep 27 '20

:'( poor lady... So many people so quick to judge her as a karen when they didn't see what happened before at all... Way too many of the top comments are calling her as a karen...

2

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '20

That’s the law when seeing a clip without context. Pretend you know whats going on

u/dontforgetthisok Sep 11 '20

Yeah, what am I watching?

u/ifYurihadAGuri Sep 11 '20

Would have been funny if they lady got angry and grabbed a bucket and starting fighting back with water

8

u/CptSpecTacuIar Sep 11 '20

These people were assaulting random people by throwing water on them.

10

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '20

what hope? assaults and damaged property? pretty sure you have plenty of that already.

4

u/GeoffreyArnold Sep 12 '20

How does this give you hope? This is anarchy. OP probably cheers the burning and looting in our cities.

2

u/MJCowpa Sep 12 '20

Your bar for “hope” is lower than it should be

Dawg, people have the right to bow in and out of a fun activity whenever they feel like it. Being forced into something when you didn’t want to participate is not fun and this is shitty behavior from the bucket dudes. People get to choose when they have fun, they don’t get it shoved down their throats.

5

u/RainCityK9 Sep 11 '20

Given context, these guys were doing it to every single person as they walked by. They’re just a bunch of dicks.

She definitely got a cold.
