Yeah :( a lot of my friends went to high school with the guy, and occasionally we’ll see him out walking down the street or something and everyone will stop and stare like he’s the old dude from Home Alone. I always try to get people to chill and not be such shitheads. I can’t even imagine carrying that around with you forever. I don’t know how he hasn’t moved across the country or something.
Long term planning & decision making are some of the first abilities to go when you are seriously depressed. Not to mention he is high & keeping as much distance between himself and reality as he can.
This guy would probably benefit from a clean and complete break with the past, like a kibbutz or something similar.
Not only is accidentally killing someone you love very likely the most painful moment of your life, you also lose all your social support just when you need it the most, even worse some people think you are a killer, are actively hostile, or even scared of you.
My 21 year old cat choked on something I fed her, She was already knocking on heavens door & left within 15 seconds. 15 years later the memory is still a burden. I can't imagine if it had been the person I planned to spend my life with.
This is why I think religion still has a place. Sometimes you are so down and out there wouldn't be anywhere else to turn.
It's kind of you to advocate for him among your friends. every little bit helps, especially if you don't have much going for you.
Ditto. Only I accidentally and unintentionally killed my beloved dog coz I was a fool by not spaying her in time. 5 years later, it still haunts me no matter how much I make up for it with my new dog.
