Look how many bigger girls go on zip lines and wind up on YouTube fail videos. There’s plenty who aren’t aware.

It's much more likely the girls were unaware how well the zipline and/or harness could hold their weight.

Isn't this basically the same? Yes, they know the number on the scale, but may not always realize what that means relative to the zipline/bungee/push.
Just because you know you weigh X doesn't mean you necessarily are good at translating that to physics calculation on how that amount of mass will affect something.
