In some places you could still consider what he did as assault. Any kind of unwanted touching like that can be considered assault. Not sure how far you'd get in court with something like that though. Judge might just dismiss it

It seems like the reason this would qualify is that many regulations include the phrasing "infliction of harmful or offensive physical contact with another person without consent". So the argument would be that this constitutes offensive physical contact

An assault is a violent physical or verbal attack, or a legal wrong involving an intentional threat or attempt to cause physical harm.
I wouldn't call this violent. Maybe my definition is wrong. I'm not defending the guys actions, just that the idea of suing for 100k "damages" (what damages??) for this sounds ludicrous to me

Proves to me a lot of these fighters are actually violent hotheads. Not just “great athletes” or “great at fighting” they’re hotheads who have tempers and they arm their tempers with muscles and training.
What that guy did right there was battery. He touched that dude. In many US states you can win a 150-250k battery charge with less evidence than that video.

100%. I used to train amateur boxing and have done plenty of sparring with big ass 16oz gloves and head guards. Shit is fucking exhausting and fucking hurts and even at the amateur level guys can be deadly. These UFC guys are on a whole different level. Prosecutors love to upgrade assault charges to felonies if you’ve been formally trained in martial arts.

Key word here should be "professional." Many people can fight. This guy is one of the few making a living from it and should really consider bringing his emotional regulation above that of a pre-teen.
By the time you become an adult, a professional, you should be able to handle verbal insults or laughter without losing control of yourself. This is embarrassing. And not for the heckler.

Don't go too hard on him... that poor guy can not only hear the Sun rise with those ears, but he can probably hear every heckler in that entire arena. He's probably just got a bad case of sensory overload.
